Prebio Plus is food for your bacteria!

Prebiotics are just as important as probiotics and they could often be used together. Prebiotics naturally reside in all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and in some nuts & other foods.

We found three great sources of prebiotics and turned them into an easy-to-use powder form*. (See ingredients list)

We formulated Prebio Plus with prebiotics from diverse sources, because different probiotics prefer different prebiotics in order to thrive*.

Storage:

Pantry. Our Prebio Plus does not require refrigeration. It doesn't contain any live cultures. Seal properly to avoid exposure to moisture, and store in a dry place.

Use:
  1. Add to cultured foods, such cultured vegetables, to enhance fermentation (optional).
  2. Add to kefir to make it super creamy (optional). If your kefir has over-separated, Prebio Plus may help make it creamy again.
  3. L. Reuteri Superfood and L. Gasseri Superfood REQUIRE prebitic fiber. Follow the instructions carefully for required quantities (L. Reuteri instructions, L. Gasseri instructions).
  4. Use in smoothies, salad dressings, coffee or tea, baked goods, condiments, or any food or beverage, hot or cold, that you'd like to make a little sweeter. Suggestion: Experiment with 1/2 to 1 scoop (the included scoop is equal to 1/2 teaspoon), and gradually increase quantity up to 3 scoops per day.
FAQs & Troubleshooting

When making L Reuteri and L Gasseri, should I use the little scoop that comes inside the Prebio Plus package? No. The scoop inside the Prebio Plus package is intended for other uses, such as adding the Prebio Plus to smoothies, baked goods, or dressings. For L. Reuteri/L. Gasseri, use 2 tablespoons per quart of dairy, as stated in the instructions (L. Reuteri instructions, L. Gasseri instructions).

Can Prebio Plus be added to a hot dish? Absolutely. The Prebio Plus is a blend of prebiotic fibers. It doesn't contain any live bacteria. It is therefore not heat-sensitive. You can use it in any temperature.

Why is the powder sometimes brown instead of white? The tan color is perfectly fine. It's only cosmetic, there's no change to the product or to the formula. We simply source one of the ingredients from a different organic supplier at times, which explains the tan color. You can use your tanned Prebio Plus as normal.

The powder has hardened/clumped: Like many other powdered products, such as salt, flour, or dried spices, the Prebio Plus requires dry storage and proper sealing. If exposed to moisture, the powder can harden or clump. This could happen if you have not properly sealed the product after opening it, and especially if there is some humidity in your pantry, or if the powder had been in contact with a slightly damp utensil, etc. You can (very carefully) try breaking it up in a blender or a food processor, but no guarantee this will work.

Can the Prebio Plus be shipped to Hawaii / Alaska / Puerto Rico? Yes. Shipping fees to Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico are the same as to any address within the contiguous USA.

Prebio Plus - an esential for fermentation

Posted by Wendy Spalding on 2023 Feb 23rd

This is a great prebiotic to use with the various starter cultures I have bought from CEC. I have recommended to family and friends to use it generously to be sure of consistent results. It still goes a very long way and is therefore great value for the price. One of our staple pantry items.
