You will need a Sous Vide device or a yogurt maker that can hold a large jar.
Follow the instructions and keep the ratios in proportion: To make 2 quarts (half-gallon jars), double the quantities of all the ingredients.
Points to consider:
- Small individual jars are more convenient than larger jars
- There's no point in making large quantities if you don't eat yogurt that often
Remember to save some of your finished yogurt as a starter for future batches.
